Luke Puskaric - Saxophonist

By Shannon Kennedy
Name: Luke Puskaric
Instrument: Alto Saxophone
Years Playing: 7 years
Why he began playing the saxophone:
I started playing flute in elementary school, but by middle school decided that I wanted something "louder" (back then I didn't know how piercing a flute could be!). I took up alto saxophone since my father had one.
What he is doing musically right now:
Currently I'm composing and recording my originals, as well as getting around to jam with other local players. It's a difficult task, but I'm trying to maintain my ability at other instruments as well - clarinet, flute, guitar, electric bass, and piano. There just aren't enough hours in the day to play!
What he plans on doing in the future:
I'm going pro - I have a gig locked in as a full-time musician in the Navy (saxophone, clarinet) with a steady paycheck and nice benefits. I want to keep evolving my music as an art and hopefully take it somewhere meaningful for me. Most of all, I wanna have fun, because that's what music is all about.
