Holly Kruggel - Saxophonist
Teen Jazz Hosting
By Shannon Kennedy
teen jazz hosted by sax player Shannon Kennedy
Name: Holly Kruggel

Instrument: Alto Sax

Years of Experience: 3 years

The Reason she started performing::

I didn't join band until my freshman year of high school, so it was hard trying to fit in with everybody. I wanted to play the alto saxophone because I went to some of my sister's band concerts (she plays the alto as well) and I thought it was just the coolest thing. I must have caught on quick because now I am 2nd alto in my top jazz band at school (my sister is lead).

What she is doing musically right now::

I'm currently doing jazz band and symphonic band at my school. Also, our jazz band is going to perform at the Hard Rock Cafe in Hawaii this coming spring break.

What she plans on doing in the future::

I'm planning on going to college in Southern Oregon, and there I will minor in music. I will also probably continue to play my saxophone in my leisure time.
