Adam Larson - Saxophonist

Adam Larson began playing
the saxophone at age 11.
Since then he has been
recognized at numerous
jazz festivals for being an
outstanding jazz soloist.
Recently, Adam was
awarded the International
Association of Jazz
Educators Outstanding
Soloist Award, at the
Illinois Wesleyan University
Jazz Festival and was a
finalist in the Illinois Music
Educators Association
secondary general music
composition contest. He
has been a featured soloist
with many groups and
fronts many of his own
professional ensembles as
well, playing styles from
Fusion to Be-Bop.
In addition to having many of his own groups, Adam has worked
with numerous notable jazz musicians and educators from across
the country. Some of the artists whom Adam has worked with are
Matt Wilson, Ron Miles, John Hebert, Gary Versace, David Baker,
Mike Lee, Ron McCurdy, Glenn Wilson, Doug Stone, Ron Carter and
Rex Richardson among others.
Adam is mainly a tenor and alto saxophonist, but plays baritone and
soprano saxophones, as well as clarinet. Adam, currently 15, is a
freshman in high school and plans to continue his education in music
at the collegiate level.
