Having studied music for several years, I have had the pleasure (or the
displeasure in some cases) of studying under several talented people. Each
teacher has had their own individual approach to teaching. I have had
teachers who feel their way is the only way to teachers who try to help you
find your way and because they are still trying to grow themselves see if
works for you works for them too.
What is important to remember is that no matter who you study with, you can
learn from ANYONE - it is up to you to steal from them. Even if they suck at
teaching, there is still something that that person is doing that is cool that
you can take and make your own even if it is not sucking as bad as they do
