Peter White Featuring Greg Vail 1.07.06
by Shannon Kennedy
teen jazz hosted by sax player Shannon Kennedy
After five years if not more, Greg Vail finally had a reunion performance with smooth jazz guitar player Peter White. Greg Vail was the regular “saxboy” for Peter White for five years before leaving the band to work on his own solo career. With the opening of the new “Old Town Theater” in Temecula, California, Mr. Vail finally had the opportunity to perform with Peter White after several years.

With Lamont Peoples on drums, David Sparkman on keys, and Donald Patterson on bass, the two 75 minute shows were well received and completely sold out. The shows featured every member of the band at some point, with David Sparkman displaying talent both vocally and instrumentally and Greg Vail on his feature song “Love’s Gift”.

The Peter White show featuring Greg Vail was a great performance in a great new theater. The audience could easily see that the band members really enjoyed playing with each other as they frequently interacted with one another on stage even up to doing simple choreography.

Peter White truly puts on a great performance and has amiable stage presence. It is definitely a show to see and an example for a performer to learn from.
